Elise & Jonah
A late-summer wedding in a meadow, planned around the last hour of light and delivered as one quiet, continuous story.
The brief
Elise and Jonah married in a field behind a family farmhouse, with forty guests and no tent. They asked for one thing: pictures that looked like the evening felt, not like a shoot happening in the middle of it.
Built around the light
We walked the field with them a month before and timed the sun. The ceremony moved to an hour before sunset, so the portraits could follow straight after in the low, warm light at the edge of the meadow. Family groups were shot first, on a tripod, while everyone was still in one place.
On the day
One of us stayed with the couple from getting ready to the last dance; the other worked the guests and the details. The portraits took twenty minutes, then the couple went back to their own party.
A preview of thirty frames went over in four days. The full edit followed within three weeks, graded as one set.
